HARRISBURG — A union and labor fund are suing Eric
Hiester, citing alleged breach of contract.
Reading Joint Apprentice and Electrical Committee and
Ryan Helms and International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local Union No.
743 filed a complaint on Aug. 5 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle
District of Pennsylvania against Hiester, alleging that the defendant
breached his contractual agreement by working for a non-signatory employer.
According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that
they sustained damages due to Hiester. The plaintiffs hold the defendant
responsible for allegedly failing to complete the five-year journeyman term to
earn enough credit to pay off a loan to the fund.
The plaintiffs seek to enforce an arbitration award and
enjoin the defendant, an award for the benefit of the fund for amounts due plus
interest, liquidated damages, court costs and any further relief this court
grants. They are represented by Stephen J. Holroyd of Jennings Sigmond, P.C. in
Philadelphia.
