The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Department of Labor and
Industry will receive a $250,000 federal grant to conduct a cost-benefit
analysis for different paid family-leave models.
The grant, awarded Tuesday by the U.S. Department of
Labor's Women's Bureau, is part of $3 million in research grants distributed to
17 states and municipalities to analyze how paid-leave programs can be
developed and implemented.
As part of its work, the Pennsylvania's labor department
will conduct a feasibility study of a state administrative infrastructure to
support a paid family leave program.
