Construction
has started on the Shoppes at Wyndham, a retail project near York College in
Spring Garden Township.
York
Township-based Kinsley Construction Inc.,
the midstate's largest general contractor by revenue, is overseeing the
construction for SpringLane LLC, the developer of the new retail center.
European
discount grocery chain Lidl has already committed to a
33,000-square-foot grocery store. The new shopping center at the corner of
South Richland Avenue and Indian Rock Dam Road, near Country Club Road, will
include 20,000 square feet of additional retail space for up to 11 tenants.
Three
tenants have already committed — Subway, Domino’s and Great Clips. Cost of the
construction was not disclosed.
"I've
always liked the site, so when it became available, I jumped on it
immediately," developer George Bullard said. "It's obviously a
well-located site and the people that live, work and study in the surrounding
area will benefit greatly from the convenience this retail development will
offer."
The
shell of the 20,000-square-foot building is expected to be done by the end of
the year, according to Kinsley.
