The vacant Wilbur Chocolate complex in Lititz could be
sold by mid-April, according to a new marketing flier on the site from CBRE
Inc.
CBRE and Minneapolis-based Cargill, the owner, declined
comment on the asking price for the Lancaster County property on North Broad
Street.
Cargill announced the closing of the facility in October.
Wilbur operated the chocolate manufacturing facility for
113 years in Lititz.
The marketing flier said the property includes the
179,798-square-foot manufacturing building on 3.3 acres plus two additional
sites at 47 N. Broad St. and 7.7 acres of land to the rear of the factory.
Potential redevelopment opportunities include multifamily
living, condominiums, retail, office, senior living and hospitality, according
to CBRE.
CBRE is offering a 30-day marketing period to tour the
property beginning March 1. It will begin accepting offers on March 31 and
there will be a 15-day review to select a buyer, according to the flier.
