Plans for a high-rise apartment tower at the current site of the Chestnut Wash N Lube car wash in University City have been scaled back, with a six-story building now being proposed for the property instead.
The Philadelphia Civic Design Review board is scheduled next month to consider the revised proposal for the 4125 Chestnut St. site. The new plans call for 130 dwelling units and 8,800 square feet of ground-floor office space, along with a public outdoor “parklette” and a green roof, according to a presentation posted Wednesday to the board’s website.
Previous plans for the site, unveiled in February, involved a 17-story tower with 240 units.
4125 Chestnut St CRCP paid $5.4 million for the property in July, according to records filed with the city.
