$7M storage facility to be built in Exeter Township

A Sinking Spring-based company said it has received final land development approval to begin construction on a $7 million, 118,625-square-foot storage facility at 4990 Perkiomen Ave. in Exeter Township.

Storage World LLC said it will be its 11th storage facility in the Pennsylvania and New Jersey region it serves. It already has facilities in Sinking Spring, Robesonia, Womelsdorf and Reading.

According to a news release, the new multilevel storage facility will feature climate- and humidity-controlled storage spaces, automated access and a video surveillance system.

Kyle Greth, vice president of Storage World said the facility, comprised of the main climate-controlled building and three self-storage out-buildings, won’t just be accessible 24 hours per day; rentals also can be made around the clock.

“There’s an automated rental station,” Greth said. “You can come in at 4 a.m. and still rent a storage unit.”

He said upon entering the main door, customers can access the rental portal, make payment and receive unit access information.

In addition, the site will feature extra-large storage units designed for businesses or for motor home storage.

Construction is scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2017, with the facility expected to open in 2018.
