Yards Brewing Co. has approvals in place for its move to
the former Destiny Maternity Corp. warehouse property in Northern Liberties.
Northern Liberties Neighborhood Association zoning
chairman Larry Freedman said Thursday that his group and the city's zoning
board had cleared Yards' proposal to take space at the maternity
apparel company's former headquarters building at Fifth and Spring Garden Streets.
Yards plans to occupy 70,000 square feet with a brewery,
tasting room and event space at the site.
Yards founder and president Tom Kehoe and other
brewery staff plan a roughly three-quarter-mile procession on Thursday
afternoon to the new location from their current 38,000-square-foot space
near the Delaware River at Poplar Street, to celebrate the coming move.
The event's tag line: "Kehoe's crossing of the
Delaware (Avenue)"
It was not immediately known when the new location would
open for business.
