Greythorne Development of Montclair, N.J., and the Flynn
Co. of Philadelphia plan a 13-unit apartment building on the southwest corner
of Second and Race Streets in Old City, Greythorne owner Michael Koep said
Monday.
The five-story project with ground floor retail is being
designed by architect Canno Design, according to documents filed with the
Philadelphia Historical Commission, whose architectural committee will review
the plan Tuesday.
The building, at 160-164 N. 2nd St., which is being
called the Elliot Apartments, would replace two single-story kitchen-supply
stores. The partners hope to break ground on the project this winter, Koep
said.
