Alvin H. Butz Inc. of Allentown earned a top award for
its work on a more than $20 million medical center project in Danville.
The company received the 2016 Construction Management
Association of America Mid-Atlantic Chapter Project of the Year award for its
work in private sector projects worth more than $20 million, according to a
news release.
Butz earned the award for the construction management of
Geisinger Health System, Geisinger Medical Center – new medical laboratories in
Danville, which Butz completed in 2015.
“Despite multiple challenges and the technologically
complex nature of this project, our team was able to successfully deliver the
sophisticated medical laboratory building, allowing Geisinger’s staff to more
efficiently care for patients,” said Greg Butz, president and CEO, in a
statement.
The four-story building and mechanical penthouse included
26 medical laboratories, administration offices, medical equipment, food
services and high-density storage units.
Butz won the same award in prior years for other projects
it completed, including the Allentown Neighborhood Improvement Zone Development
Authority’s PPL Center.
