Rothman expanding its presence in western suburbs

Rothman Institute, the region's largest orthopedic group, is expanding its footprint in the western suburbs with the opening of two new practice sites.

The 14,000-square-foot Rothman Institute Glen Mills will be in the Shoppes at Brinton Lakes on Evergreen Drive off Route 202. The center, which will have 22 exam rooms, is scheduled to open in the second half of 2016.

The Malvern office will be in the Upper Worthington Urban Village. The 18,000-square-foot facility with 26 exam rooms is expected to open in late 2016.

Mike West, CEO of Rothman Institute, said the Malvern office will give the group "an opportunity to grow into the Chester County region" and further develop its presence at Paoli Hospital. The Glen Mills location, he said, also expands our its presence in Chester County. "[The center] is a little bit more south, which should be attractive to patients traveling from Delaware."

In October, Rothman expanded its presence in Bucks and Montgomery counties through its merger with Willow Grove-based OrthopaediCare.
