Green Ridge Village completes second phase of $10 million renovation

Presbyterian Senior Living announced this week that it has completed the second phase of renovation at its Green Ridge Village retirement community in Newville, Cumberland County.

The $10 million project includes a newly renovated short-stay rehabilitation unit, a contemporary restaurant-style dining room, a special sensory room in the secured memory support neighborhood, and the region's only private bariatric suite and spa. The bariatric suite is intended for patients requiring short-stay rehabilitation following an illness or surgery, including gastric bypass, hip and knee replacements or back surgery. The suite boasts a private bathroom, large walk-in closet, flat-screen TV and wireless Internet access.

Catherine Kirkham, executive director of Green Ridge Village, said the renovation project will help to create a more homelike environment for residents. The renovations also include a new marketing office, welcoming lobby, modern nursing spaces and spacious therapy rooms, she said.

“The bariatric suite is a great addition to the community’s overall transformation,” Kirkham said. “We’re committed to delivering excellent, innovative care and this project will allow us to continue and expand on that commitment."

Based in Dillsburg, Presbyterian Senior Living operates a network of 29 senior communities across the Mid-Atlantic.
