Silver Spring Township supervisors tabled a
1.1-million-square-foot distribution warehouse on Fry Drive on Wednesday so
officials can work out conditions.
The supervisors held a required conditional use public
hearing for the Exeter Property Group plan to construct a warehouse in the
general industrial zoning district. Warehouses are permitted in the district by
conditional use.
"It was tabled because it’s a conditional use, and
we had a lot of conditions," Supervisor Nancy Griffie said this morning.
"Nothing momentous."
The tract is about 78 acres, according to township
documents. A real estate investment firm based in Plymouth Meeting, Exeter
Property Group also owns a 424,000-square-foot warehouse at 40 Dauphin Drive in
Silver Spring. Exeter recently received approval for a 176,000-square-foot
expansion of that facility.
In other news, the supervisors also tabled a preliminary
subdivision plan for 47 homes known as Hunters Glen. The development is
proposed in the rural residential zone on the west side of Hunter Drive.
It was tabled because it is partly in Hampden Township,
Griffie said.
“They didn’t have a chance to review it at their planning
commission,” she said.
The 72.5-acre tract is being developed by the estate of Oliver
and Mary Rosenberg, according to county planning documents.
