A 14,000-square-foot daycare and learning center could soon
be going in across from the Blue Mountain Commons shopping center in
Susquehanna Township.
Susquehanna Township-based Vartan Group Inc. announced
Monday it is developing the site at 2323 Linglestown Road for Little Learners’
Child Development Center, an educationally based child development center that
offers child care, kindergarten and private schooling for children starting at
age 6 weeks.
The center is currently located at 2300 Vartan Way.
“Our new building will allow us to do even more for all the
parents and students we currently serve, as well as increase the number of
families we serve by expanding the size of our facility,” said Lisa Whitworth,
the center’s CEO.
Land development plans have been submitted to the township.
The developer expects the $1.9 million project to be completed by next summer.
Swatara Township-based K&W Engineers & Consultants
is the civil engineer on the project. Harrisburg-based Alexander Building
Construction Co. is the design-build contractor and TKS Architects, based in
Lower Allen Township, is the architect.
Vartan Group has two other commercial buildings with frontage
on Linglestown Road slated for the site. These will be built as part of a
future phase after they are pre-leased or sold, the company said. Permitted
uses include offices, banks and financial institutions, medical practices, and
various institutional facilities.
