Harrisburg-based Alexander Building Construction Co. has
completed a $25.1 million expansion project at Geisinger Health System's Gray's
Woods campus in State College.
The project, which followed parking additions, expanded the
facility's outpatient surgery capabilities and consolidated surgical
specialties into one location.
The 77,560-square-foot building matches the existing
60,000-square-foot building that Alexander completed in 2008. It includes a
full-service ambulatory surgery center, four endoscopy suites, four operating
rooms, an expanded radiology department, comprehensive breast cancer treatment
and two pain therapy suites.
The addition also expanded space for
cardiology/cardiovascular, pulmonary, ophthalmology, gastroenterology, GI
nutrition and otolaryngology programs.
Alexander, which is strong in the health care and higher
education sectors, is part of Allentown-based Butz Enterprises Inc.
