HCR ManorCare is selling a Chester County long-term care
facility to an undisclosed buyer.
The Ohio-based company declined to identify the buyer for
Devon Manor, a 131-bed skilled nursing home at 235 Lancaster Avenue in Devon,
or any other additional information about the transaction.
“HCR ManorCare has made the decision to sell Devon Manor,
a facility operating under the company’s umbrella,” the company said in a
statement. “We are committed to making this transition as smooth as possible
for everyone involved.”
In a WARN notice filed with the Pennsylvania Department
of Labor and Industry, the company indicated 124 workers will lose positions
with HCR ManorCare as of Nov. 17. It could not be determined how many, if any,
of those workers will be able to secure positions with the new owner of the site.
HCR Manor Care operates 500 skilled nursing and
rehabilitation centers, assisted living facilities, memory care communities,
outpatient rehabilitation clinics, and hospice and home health care agencies
across the United States. The company has about two dozen facilities in the
Philadelphia region.
