Residential units slated for former Bethlehem school

A vacant school in Bethlehem could be transformed into residential units by a local developer.

At a school board meeting Monday night, the Bethlehem Area School District approved the $850,000 sale of the former Rosemont School property to Nic Zawarski & Sons, a Bethlehem developer that wants to convert the property into 24 residential units, said Chris Baj, senior adviser for Sperry Van Ness Imperial Realty in Hanover Township, Lehigh County.

Baj represented the buyer and seller in the transaction and said the district had multiple offers on the property.

The 30,000-square-foot former school sits on 2.8 acres at 815 Pennsylvania Ave. near West Union Boulevard and Routes 378 and 22, according to a sales brochure.

Nic Zawarski could not be reached for comment.
