Bakery, food service distributor to occupy $7.5M facility

A family-owned and operated independent bakery/food service distributor is expanding into a $7.5 million industrial property in Upper Macungie Township.

Zilka & Co. Bakery Supplies will occupy 30,000 square feet of a new 110,000-square-foot facility at 7522 Morris Court which will be finished at the end of March, said Martin Till, regional president of J.G. Petrucci Co., owner of the property.

Zilka & Co. plans to use the warehouse space as a food distribution center and for light manufacturing, Till said.

The building has another 40,000 square feet that could be leased with a tenant any day now, he added.

The 7522 Morris Court building will have 30-foot-clear ceiling height and expansive loading space, with 108 spaces for vehicles and additional spaces to the rear of the property.

Nearby manufacturers and distribution companies include Kraft Foods, Behr Process Corp., Omnilift and Millard Refrigerated Services.

Zilka & Co. Bakery Supplies is headquartered in Belle Vernon and has another industrial property at 7566 Morris Court. Representatives from the company could not be reached for comment.
