Pennsylvania slot revenue down in 2013



Casino slot revenue dropped in 2013 in Pennsylvania. Even the Sands Casino Resort in Bethlehem, which posted mostly gains overall, ended 2013 about 1.09 percent behind 2012 figures for slots.

The Sands took in $288.4 million for 2013, as compared to $291.5 million in 2012.

Mount Airy Casino Resort in Mount Pocono slot revenue was down 4.7 percent. It took in $142.9 million in December 2013 as compared to $149.8 million in December 2012.

Overall for slots revenue, the state's casinos were down 3.5 percent over 2012.

The casinos took in $2.4 billion in slot revenue in 2013, compared to $2.5 billion in 2012.

Tax generated from slot revenue in 2013 totaled $1.3 billion.

December was a particularly bad month for slot revenue.

Overall, the casinos took in $178 million in slot revenue as compared to $195 million in December 2012.

The Sands slot revenue was down 12.9 percent. Mount Airy was down 10.7 percent, and the statewide total was 8.7 percent lower than December 2012.
