The 76ers are planning to build a practice facility at the Navy Yard.

The Philadelphia 76ers are soliciting proposals from architects to design a new practice facility for the team at the Philadelphia Navy Yard Corporate Center.
The Sports Business Journal, a sister paper of the Philadelphia Business Journal, obtained a “request for proposal” put out by the team seeking designs for a 55,000-square-foot facility that would be built on a vacant lot that occupies 3.3 acres.
The Sixers last year opened administrative offices at the Navy Yard, which is a little more than a mile from the Wells Fargo Center. The team took space previously occupied by Tasty Baking Co. executives.
According to the Sports Business Journal report, the team hopes to have a new practice facility ready by June 2015.
The team is looking for a facility that would include “two basketball courts; fitness, training and rehabilitation space; player and coaching staff locker rooms; an audio-video review room; broadcast media facilities; a player lounge; food service; laundry; and 60 surface parking spaces.”
The Sixers currently practice on the campus of the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.
