Harrisburg-based mechanical contractor H.B. McClure Co. has
acquired I.T. Landes & Son Inc., a Montgomery County-based mechanical
services firm with 110 employees.
The deal, announced today, will expand H.B. McClure’s
presence into Montgomery and Bucks counties, said Jeri Donadee, the company’s
vice president.
“We’re always looking to expand our footprint,” he said,
adding that the deal had been in the works since the beginning of the year.
H.B. McClure now operates in 12 counties. Its primary
service area is Cumberland and Dauphin counties.
Donadee said I.T. Landes & Son provides many of the same
services, which should make for a smooth transition. The combined firm will be
100 percent employee-owned and will have projected combined revenue of about
$65 million this year.
The deal pushes H.B. McClure up to about 340 employees,
Donadee said. Terms were not disclosed.
I.T. Landes & Son will now operate as IT Landes in the
same Harleysville office. The management team of Chris and Mike Landes will
also remain on staff, Donadee said.
“We looked to merge with H.B. McClure because of their
strong reputation as a leading mechanical contractor in the region and because
of their employee-owned culture,” said Chris Landes. “Mike and I felt this was
our best way to transition out of an ownership role and reward our current
staff. In addition, H.B. McClure’s commitment to deliver superior customer
service is a perfect fit with our business philosophy and culture.”
IT Landes is a fourth-generation family-run business that
was founded in 1929.
H.B. McClure’s last acquisition was Henry Mechanical in
October 2013.
