The Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children showed
off its latest outpatient location Thursday in South Jersey.
The $45 million Nemours duPont Pediatric office in
Deptford is the Wilmington-based children’s hospital fourth care site in New
Jersey joining medical offices in Voorhees, Vineland and Woodbury.
Nemours duPont also has a dozen medical office sites in the
Philadelphia region to go along with its eight network sites in Delaware.
The Deptford project represents Nemours largest-ever
investment for an outpatient care facility in the Philadelphia region.
“Nemours duPont Pediatrics, Deptford is a direct reflection
of our commitment to keep care local – whenever possible – because we believe
families deserve convenient access and continuity of care for their children,
close to home,” said Dr. Roy Proujansky, Chief Executive of Nemours
Delaware Valley Operations.
The 63,500-square-foot Deptford facility in Gloucester
County features 29 specialty clinic exam rooms, on-site imaging, an ambulatory
surgery center with two operating rooms and 10 prep/recovery rooms, a therapy
gym and indoor therapeutic pool, plus its own playground.
The ambulatory care center is scheduled to begin seeing
patients next month.
The center will provide outpatient pediatric care in 25
specialties including heart care, orthopedics, neurology, allergy and
immunology, behavioral health, respiratory care and eye care.
Family amenities on site include a sibling care playroom,
a cafe, community meeting space and a lactation room.
Kimberly Parkinson, site operations director for
Nemours, said the center is designed to handle up to 500 patient visits daily.
The pediatric care center is at 1280 Almonesson Road near
the Deptford Mall.
Hospital officials said the building and landscaping on
the properties 33 acres was designed to preserve nearby forests and wetlands –
enhancing the “healing nature” of the facility.
Whiting-Turner served as construction manager on the
project. Array Architects designed the building. Anchor Health Properties was
the project developer.
