Lancaster County home sales were up 19.2 percent in the
third quarter compared with the same quarter a year ago, and 18.7 percent above
the five-year quarterly average, according to the Lancaster County Association
of Realtors.
The association reported 1,639 sales in the third
quarter, including 525 in September, which was the fourth consecutive month of
gains over the prior year.
The Lancaster County housing market has beat the prior
year for sales in all but one month this year (May). And sales were up each
month from October 2014 through April 2015, according to the association.
The median-sale price for the third quarter was $179,900,
which was up from $177,500 a year ago.
Pending sales increased 15.1 percent in September to 510,
according to the association.
