The Butz Corporate Center in downtown Allentown acquired
its newest tenant, MillerSearles LLC.
Alvin H. Butz Inc. of Allentown, the construction firm
that built the facility, made the announcement Wednesday.
MillerSearles LLC, a Certified Public Accounting and
advisory services firm headquartered in Upper Macungie Township, moved to a
6,000-square-foot space on the third floor of the Phase II addition at Ninth
and Hamilton streets.
MillerSearles sold its Upper Macungie home on Oakview
Drive to Horizon Facility Services, a cleaning services company that now
occupies the building.
The MillerSearles move puts the Butz center at about 90
percent leased, said Margaret McConnell, spokeswoman for Alvin H. Butz.
The company began work last month on the third phase of
the center.
The recent revitalization of the downtown into a thriving
business center helped attract the firm to the site.
“My partners and I grew up in Lehigh Valley; as kids we
remembered the heyday of the retail district downtown,” Matthew Searles,
managing partner of MillerSearles, said this morning. “We want to be a part of
what’s happening downtown and the growing business community.”
The Butz building was desirable because MillerSearles
wanted an office that would have more natural light, Searles said.
“It was just a perfect location for us,” Searles said.
“There is so much energy on this corner of Hamilton.”
The firm moved 20 employees and has plans for growth in
its new space, he said.
“We are committed to the downtown,” Searles said.
MillerSearles owned its former building for about 12
years. The firm had grown to the point where it took over both suites in the
building, he said.
