Great to see some of our other regional
construction power players like Kinsley Construction, Inc. and Alexander Building
continuing to build on their recognition and accomplishments. Congratulations to
all.
Take note Philadelphia building community,
facility owners and developers, these are the commercial contractors of choice
moving forward. Their ability to build
without signatory conflicts & restrictions and their ever expanding and growing
experience in education, medical and vertical set them apart from the status
quo here in the city. If you haven’t
considered them before, its time!
Four midstate-based contractors and a Lehigh Valley
construction company with a Harrisburg subsidiary made the Top 400 Contractors
list from Engineering News-Record, or ENR.
The magazine ranks the top firms in the country based on
total revenue.
York Township-based Kinsley Construction Inc.
was the top local firm, based on 2014 revenue. Kinsley came in at No. 169 with
$393.5 million. That was down from No. 142 on the 2014 list,
according to ENR.
Harrisburg-based Quandel Enterprises Inc.
remained at No. 200 with $324.8 million in revenue last year.
Harrisburg-based Alexander Building Construction Co.’s
parent company, Butz Enterprises Inc., which is headquartered in
Allentown, came in at No. 219 this year. Butz reported $290.5 million in
revenue. It was down from No. 209 last year.
Lancaster-based Wohlsen Construction Co.
jumped up to No. 303 from No. 317 last year. Its revenue was $198 million in
2014.
Manchester Township-based Wagman Inc. was No. 349 on
the ENR list with $162.2 million in revenue. Wagman was not on last year's
list.
Collectively, the top 400 generated about
$332 billion in contracting revenue last year, according to ENR. That was
up 2.4 percent from 2013. The record revenue year was 2008 with $338.4
billion, the publication said.
