Berks firm builds auto dealership for former NFL players

A Berks County construction firm is building an auto dealership complex owned by an automotive industry veteran and two former National Football League players.

Hollenbach Construction of Boyertown is working on a Kia and Hyundai dealership building in Hazle Township, Luzerne County, owned by Antonio Pierce and Jesse Armstead, former football players for the New York Giants, and Michael Saporito, an auto industry businessman.

The owners are under the name All Pro Airport LP and have a large Honda dealership in Hamilton, N.J., said Glenn Ebersole, strategic vice president of business development, marketing for Hollenbach.

Hollenbach plans to finish the estimated $5 million project next summer. The two buildings will be a combined 35,000 square feet. Foundation work started and some of the masonry walls are going up, Ebersole said.

“The Hyundai dealership we are building will be the first using Hyundai’s new design,” Ebersole said.

A third dealership and a car wash are expected to be built on that site, but a construction firm has not been picked.

Meanwhile, a March completion is eyed for the Good West Industries project in Douglass Township, Berks County.

For this project, Hollenbach is building a 38,000-square-foot warehouse on an adjacent lot to the existing Good West building. The company manufactures food service dispenser products.

Hollenbach is building a 20-foot wide corridor which connects the existing building and the building under construction.

Workers are continuing the foundation work for the $1.6 million project, Ebersole said.
