Blighted property to become wellness center, enhance corridor

An Allentown construction firm is building a wellness center at the gateway to Lower Macungie Township’s proposed Hamilton Boulevard road improvements.

Cityline Construction of Allentown demolished a vacant Pizza Hut restaurant to make way for a 4,500 square-foot holistic wellness center near the intersection of Hamilton Boulevard and Kressler Road where the boulevard meets the Route 222 bypass.

Lower Macungie Township has had an ongoing study for the last year and a half to see what could be done to make improvements that would create a more pedestrian and cycling-friendly boulevard, said Sara Pandl, director of planning and community development for Lower Macungie Township. This project would enhance those efforts.

“You are starting to see on that end of the boulevard that people are starting to do renovations and improvements to their properties,” Pandl said. “The Pizza Hut property had fallen into disrepair. The building is starting to take shape.”

Thomas Williams Jr., real estate director of Cityline Construction, did not return requests for comment.
