Groundbreaking set for $24M health center in Lebanon County

Lancaster General Health, Orthopedic Associates of Lancaster and North Pointe Surgery Center will break ground Monday on a health center in North Cornwall Township.

The $24 million facility, expected to bring 150 new jobs to the area, will have two stories and measure more than 73,000 square feet and is scheduled to open in fall 2015, according to a media advisory issued today by LG Health.

Adjacent to Tuck Business Park at 1701 Cornwall Road, it will be a single-destination, comprehensive orthopedic center including physical therapy, MRI, pain management and outpatient surgery.

"Lancaster General Health will provide a wide range of primary and specialty care practices, outpatient services and an urgent care center," the advisory says.

OAL is a private physician-owned practice; its doctors "are members of Lancaster General Hospital’s medical staff and are the exclusive providers of ER orthopedic trauma care," the release says.

LG Health is a 689-bed nonprofit health system in Lancaster with a network of care encompassing Lancaster General Hospital, Women & Babies Hospital, Lancaster Rehabilitation Hospital, a network of outpatient centers, and Lancaster General Health Physicians primary and specialty care. Its other entities include the Pennsylvania College of Health Sciences, Afflia Home Health and Horizon Healthcare Services.

LG Health joined AllSpire Health Partners consortium in September 2013 and in February of this year announced a strategic alliance with the University of Pennsylvania Health System.
