Ware Presbyterian Village in Chester County opened its
first Vista Ridge apartment building earlier this year and is set to begin work
on the second one.
The Presbyterian Senior Living continuing care retirement
community announced today that construction is scheduled to begin in November,
with completion estimated for September 2015.
The first Vista Ridge and accompanying Pavilion Club
House cost $24.5 million, according to a news release; the second apartment
building will be modeled off the first, with 31 one- or two-bedroom apartments,
underground parking spaces and secured keyless entry, at a cost of
approximately $11 million.
The contractor is Benchmark
Construction Co.
“By incorporating energy efficient initiatives such as
geothermal heating and cooling, we expect the investment to deliver a return of
five to eight years,” said Rodney Fenstermacher, corporate director of
construction and planned assets at Presbyterian Senior Living.
When complete, the second Vista Ridge building will bring
the community's apartment total to 62. The campus also includes 80 independent
living villas, three carriage homes, with an additional three in the final
stages of completion, 52 personal care apartments and 137 skilled nursing
accommodations at Ware Presbyterian, the release said.
Based in York County, the nonprofit serves approximately
6,000 seniors in 29 locations in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Ohio and Delaware.
