Mega-Casino in Jersey City: Too Big a Gamble? Or Potential Jackpot for NJ?

While some of Atlantic City’s casinos have been cashing in their chips, that hasn’t stopped a mega-developer from taking a gamble and making plans for a new casino and entertainment complex on the waterfront in Jersey City.

The casino development by the billionaire founder of Reebok, Paul Fireman, would reportedly also include a hotel, a 95-story tower, a convention center, an auto-racing track and what is described as “the world’s largest observation wheel” with a view of the New York City skyline. Proponents of the plan say it would pump billions into New Jersey’s economy and create thousands of jobs.
