While some of Atlantic City’s casinos have been cashing
in their chips, that hasn’t stopped a mega-developer from taking a gamble and
making plans for a new casino and entertainment complex on the waterfront in
Jersey City.
The casino development by the billionaire founder of
Reebok, Paul Fireman, would reportedly also include a hotel, a 95-story tower,
a convention center, an auto-racing track and what is described as “the world’s
largest observation wheel” with a view of the New York City skyline. Proponents
of the plan say it would pump billions into New Jersey’s economy and create
thousands of jobs.
