Training and Development Survey Results in; How Do You Compare?



Highlights of the 2014 Training and Development Survey

  • New hire orientation is the most commonly offered training topic, followed by sexual harassment and emergency procedures.
  • HR conducts the training at 78 percent of respondents’ businesses.
  • In the coming years, 86 percent expect to use more online training.

HR’s Role

HR wears multiple hats when it comes to implementing training programs.

What Is HR’s Role?:

86.9%: Helps supervisors with training for employees as needed
86.2%: Decides what training is needed
83.5% (59% in 2013): Evaluates training materials/options
82.5%:  Schedules training sessions
80.1% (47% in 2013): Purchases the materials
78.3%: Conducts the training
72.2%: Evaluates/hires trainers
