York Building Products acquires part of New Holland Concrete
A York-based building products manufacturer has acquired the masonry, construction supplies and commercial door portions of New Holland Concrete.
York Building Products said the ready-mix concrete portion of New Holland, a Martin Limestone company based in New Holland, would remain with Martin Limestone and will continue to serve customers from all three of its existing ready-mix plants, under the New Holland Concrete name and brand.
York’s acquisition of the masonry, construction supplies and commercial door portions benefits both companies, said Jeff Detwiler, president and COO of Martin Limestone.
“The merging of the similar businesses provides a greater level of product offering for the two companies’ customers, across a broader market area,” he said in a news release.
Founded in 1939, York Building Products, a division of the Stewart Cos., is a building products manufacturer, with locations in Pennsylvania, Maryland and Virginia. York produces concrete masonry units, retaining wall block, concrete pavers and colored masonry cements. In addition, through sand and gravel plants in Maryland and limestone quarries in Pennsylvania, York supplies aggregates to the region.
New Holland Concrete, founded in 1929 and part of Martin Limestone since 1942, makes concrete masonry units and retaining walls and distributes commercial doors through its door solutions business unit. In addition, the company has a construction supply business unit to serve the masonry, excavation and concreter trades and three ready mix plants to serve concrete finishing contractors and builders.
