Five
of the midstate's largest general contractors made the list this year of top
400 contractors put together by trade publication Engineering News-Record, or
ENR.
The
magazine ranks firms based on total revenue.
York
Township-based Kinsley Construction Inc.
was the top local firm. Kinsley came in at No. 172 with revenue of $410.7
million in 2015. Kinsley was No. 169 last year with $393.5 million in 2014 revenue.
Lancaster-based
Wohlsen Construction Co.
jumped up to 80 spots on the list to No. 223 with revenue of $313.2 million.
Last year, Wohlsen was No. 303 with $198 million in revenue.
Harrisburg-based
Quandel Enterprises Inc.
fell to No. 257 with $269.7 million, down from No. 200 and $324.8 million in
revenue.
Harrisburg-based
Alexander Building Construction Co.’s
parent company, Butz Enterprises Inc., which is headquartered in
Allentown, came in at No. 329 with $205.4 million in revenue. Last year, Butz
was No. 219 with $290.5 million in revenue.
Carroll
Township-based Lobar Inc. rounded out the
local names by coming in at No. 377 with $174.4 million in revenue. Lobar was
not on the ENR list last year.
Missing
from the list was Manchester
Township-based Wagman Inc.
Wagman
was No. 349 on the ENR list last year with $162.2 million in revenue. The
company posted $211.5 million in revenue last year, according to Business
Journal records, which would have been good enough for No. 322 on this year's
ENR list.
