Chronicling the construction boom underway in
Philadelphia and throughout the region is a major part of our mission at the
Philadelphia Business Journal.
It’s hard not to stumble upon a new development. Projects
dot the skyline. Take a walk down just about any Center City or University City
street and there’s construction work going on. Head further afield to the Navy
Yard, Northern Liberties, King of Prussia, Pa., or even across the Delaware
River in Camden, N.J., and there’s a lot of construction being done there, too.
Even existing developments are getting infused with upgrades and capital
improvements.
The billions of development dollars being pumped in the
region is expected to continue and one way to keep track of it is through a new
Philadelphia Business Journal feature called “Crane Watch.” This interactive
site will allow users to click on a project on the map and find out more
information about the development. Our initial version focuses on Center City
but will be expanding to include other parts of the city and region.
Editor’s note: Project information for this
report is provided by the Center
City District ’s Center City
Philadelphia Developments, which is part of their
annual State
of Center City publication. An update to the report
will be published at the end of April 2016. To sign up to receive Center City
District research reports and publications, please click here
