Willow Valley Associates Inc. is developing the area
surrounding its original Willow Valley Square shopping center, while the first
of several new retail chain stores opened there last week.
Virginia-based Advance Auto Parts opened Dec. 17 in a
6,895-square-foot store that will bring 10 to 12 new jobs to the community,
according to a news release.
CCS Building Group in Willow Street was the general
contractor, Lancaster-based Rettew Associates Inc. was the site engineer, and
B.R. Kreider & Son Inc. was the site work contractor.
Advanced Auto Parts is now located on the corner next to
McDonald's, a space that was formerly a Hess gas station.
The original Willow Valley Square shopping center
includes businesses such as a Fulton Bank branch, CVS, Darrenkamps and a
McDonald's.
Now, a 30-acre tract of land next to the center is being
developed, according to spokesperson Rick Poillon.
CVS has plans to move from within the shopping center to
a free-standing building with a drive-thru, but is still going through the
regulatory approval process.
A Turkey Hill Minit Market also is moving in, but also is
still going through regulatory approvals. A lease has been signed.
According to Poillon, other businesses are in the works
and space is available for restaurants, retail and professional businesses,
medical and office tenants.
York-based Bennett Williams Realty Inc is the broker for
the project, according to Poillon.
Willow Valley Associates once operated just a motel and
restaurant along Willow Street Pike. Today the Willow Valley family of
companies includes the DoubleTree Resort by Hilton Lancaster, Willow Valley
Square Shopping Center, Willow Valley Lakes Business & Medical Center,
Willow Woods Apartments, Willow Valley and the Hilton Garden Inn and Homewood
Suites by Hilton in Harrisburg.
