Dermody Properties, a national industrial company
headquartered in Reno, Nev., plans a 475,800-square-foot warehouse/distribution
building in Forks Township.
“We expect to start construction in the next 30 to 45
days,” said Gene Preston, a partner with Dermody Properties, in its Chatham, N.J.,
office. “The Lehigh Valley is one of the hottest industrial markets in the
country.”
The site’s proximity to the new Route 33 interchange that
opened in June in neighboring Palmer Township spurred the development.
“It’s really what we think made the site developable for
a modern warehouse/distribution facility,” Preston said.
He declined to provide an estimated construction cost for
the project. He said it would be called LogistiCenter at 33.
The company is developing the building on spec, with an expected
occupancy by summer 2016, he said.
The vacant site is fully approved for the development,
which could be suitable for up to three tenants, he said.
Dermody Properties hired R.S. Mowery & Sons of Palo
Alto, Schuylkill County, as construction manager. The architectural firm is
Randall Paulson of Atlanta.
