Two more warehouses are proposed for Palmer Township,
according to the township zoning administrator.
Zoning Administrator Jim Raudenbush confirmed plans for
two warehouses at about 160,000 square feet each have been submitted by Asbury-based
J.G. Petrucci Co.
They'd be just southwest of the Chrin Commerce Center,
which has 3.4 million square feet of warehouses either built or in the planning
stages. The newly-opened Route 33 interchange will help facilitate truck
traffic to the center.
The new warehouses are planned on the west side of Van
Buren Road just south of Newlins Mill Road.
Raudenbush said the zoning hearing board granted Petrucci
permission last week for a new road to get to the warehouses. The zoners denied
permission, however, for a parking lot until they get more information about
what type of business is planned at the warehouse.
Petrucci Regional President Martin K. Till did not
immediately return a phone call asking for more information.
Township Supervisors' Chairman Dave Colver has said
warehouses comprise 25 percent of the Chrin Commerce Center land. No more
warehouses are permitted under the zoning. The remainder will be office,
retail, manufacturing, hotel and medical development, he said.3
