Two additional office buildings totaling 259,000 square
feet are going up at the intersection of the Carlisle Pike and Hogestown Road
in Silver Spring Township, the township announced today.
Harrisburg-area developer Hoffer Properties, which owns
the former Phico tract under the name 114 Associates, has been trying to build
out that intersection for the last few years.
The developer is negotiating with a nationally recognized
company to be its lead anchor, the township said. An announcement could come
this fall.
Completion of the buildings and occupancy is slated for
next spring.
"It has been a goal of the township to attract a
project of this type and size," said Supervisor Vince DiFilippo, also
candidate for Cumberland County commissioner. "We are confident that this
Class A office space will benefit our business community by making Silver
Spring Township even more attractive to additional restaurant, retail and hotel
projects."
