H.B. McClure acquires Kohl Brothers

GMCS Commentary: H.B. McClure continues its expansion through acquisition and move towards dominating the marketplace.  We are just waiting to see if they enter the Philadelphia marketplace and give some of the established regional players a run for their money.

Midstate mechanical contractor H.B. McClure Co. has acquired Kohl Brothers Inc. of Harrisburg.

Kohl ceased operations as an independent plumbing and water treatment company on Monday, when it was taken over by H.B. McClure. The former company, a family-run operation since 1881, had identified H.B. McClure as an acquisition partner.

H.B. McClure will maintain all of Kohl’s service contracts, according to a news release.

H.B. McClure provides heating, cooling, plumbing, electrical, home comfort and related services in the commercial and residential sectors from its Harrisburg office. Acquiring Kohl Brothers will enhance its plumbing services, according to the news release, particularly in well repair and water treatment.

The terms of the deal were not announced.

“H.B. McClure looks forward to providing Harrisburg’s Kohl Brothers customers with a consistent level of service and attention,” said Eric J. Crawford, vice president of H.B. McClure’s residential department.
