Hotel Carlisle to get a makeover; grand reopening planned

After falling into disrepair in recent years, the Hotel Carlisle in Middlesex Township, Cumberland County, is undergoing renovations.

Samantha Price, director of sales and marketing, said the hotel is under new management and undergoing a total makeover. Heating, roofing, painting, landscaping and other repairs are scheduled.

She declined further comment on the management team, or the cost of renovations. The Harrisburg Pike hotel, which boasts 150 rooms, is home to the Embers Convention Center, which includes three ballrooms, including a grand ballroom, and 11 meeting rooms.

The hotel is owned by Farouk Hegazi, who could not be reached for comment.

The hotel remains open, but the pool, sauna and jacuzzi areas are under renovations, Price said. Guest rooms will be remodeled next, she added, with a grand reopening set for April.

The Embers Steakhouse will not be part of future plans, Price said. The restaurant remains open but is transitioning to a "pub-style" business, she said.
