GMCS Commentary: Congratulations to Alexander Building Construction Co.,
part of Allentown-based Butz Enterprises Inc.,
on their winning bid at Lycoming College in Williamsport and for continuing to lead
the way in our regional construction marketplace.
Harrisburg-based Alexander Building Construction Co.,
part of Allentown-based Butz Enterprises Inc., was recently awarded a $6
million construction management contract for a residence hall renovation at
Lycoming College in Williamsport.
The 27,800-square-foot renovation will be completed at
Wesley Hall, which was built in 1956. It will include converting the existing
double-room dormitory layout into suite-style quarters with private bathrooms.
The work will take place over summer break with
completion expected prior to the start of the 2015-16 academic year.
Alexander is also managing
the construction of a three-story, 31,000-square-foot addition to the college’s
science building. That project includes a new planetarium and will house the
school’s astronomy, geology and physics programs.
