Bethlehem area development officials will be talking
about Bethlehem’s City Revitalization and Improvement Zone at a sold-out event
at 5:30 p.m. today at the Social Still Micro-Distillery & Kitchen in the
city. Bethlehem and Lancaster are the only two cities in the state that offer
the CRIZ, which gives tax incentives to developers and businesses.
Rob de Beer of BethWorks Renovations will be addressing
the Young Professionals Council of the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of
Commerce on projects that will be taking advantage of the South Side CRIZ.
Sean Boyle of Boyle Construction Management will be
giving an update on the progress of the Hoover Mason Trestle, which will
provide a walkway between the Sands Casino Resort and SteelStacks.
Also, local leaders will share detailed information on
the CRIZ process and how to work with the new business initiative, which is
aimed at putting vacant buildings back on the tax rolls and growing the local
job base.
