In response to the current strike with the Construction
Contractors Council, several Contractors have joined together to form a new contractor
association, the Mid-Atlantic
Association of Subcontractors & Contractors, or “MASC.’
The Metropolitan Regional Council of Carpenters and MASC have
announced that a 3 year agreement has been reached between both the Association
and the Membership.
The 3 year agreement provides for $2.90 increases to the
wage and fringe benefit package. The
first year increases are allocated to Pension, Annuity and Health Contributions.
Negotiations continue with the Construction Contractors
Council, AGC Labor Division,(“DC Contractors”), but have not yet reached a
settlement.
Building owners, developers and contractors interested in understanding
the impact and effect of this recent development on 2015 Contractor/Carpenter negotiations
here in Philadelphia should contact GMCS at wegregory@gregorymcs.com.
