York-based Stewart
& Tate Inc. has been selected to build two tilt-up distribution centers in
Maryland that will total more than 1 million square feet, the company announced
Wednesday.
The projects are being developed by Maryland-based
Chesapeake Real Estate Group. One building will be 435,000 square feet at
Baltimore Crossroads @95, a 1,000-acre mixed-use business community in the
White Marsh area of Baltimore County. The other wil be 571,000 square feet on a
48-acre site at Perryman Logistics Center in Aberdeen.
Stewart & Tate declined to provide the contract
amounts for the construction.
The buildings are slated for completion in the summer and
early fall, the company said.
“We are consistently impressed with the quality of work,
attention to detail and integrity of the construction schedule when working
with Stewart & Tate Construction,” said Jim Lighthizer, principal and
managing partner with Chesapeake Real Estate Group. “Chesapeake Real Estate
Group is in the midst of an unprecedented construction program throughout our
Mid-Atlantic portfolio, as we respond to the many large-scale end-users seeking
strategically-located and expertly-constructed warehouse and distribution
product.”
