Temple University has unveiled plans for their new $190
million library for which Canuso Jorden is part of the Construction Management
team led by Hill International. The 210,000 square-foot facility is the
centerpiece of Visualize Temple – Temple’s comprehensive master plan – and will
replace the existing Paley Library which will be converted into a welcome
center. The new facility is being designed by Snohetta in partnership with
Stantec and will feature dramatic arched entrances, a large, upper-level
outdoor balcony space, and a robotic text-retrieval system. Canuso Jorden is current
assisting Temple with the preconstruction phase in anticipation of construction
starting in the Fall of 2015. Construction is to be complete by 2018. Temple’s
formal announcement of the project can be found here.
