Follett expands operations in industrial park

A manufacturer of ice storage bins, ice transport solutions and refrigeration products is expanding for the third time in as many years.

Follett Corp. of Forks Township is expanding with the lease of 73,000 square feet of production and office space in Lehigh Valley Industrial Park IV in Hanover Township, Northampton County.

In 2012, the company added 25,000 square feet of manufacturing space to its facility in Poland, and last year it added 25,000 square feet of manufacturing space at its headquarters in Forks.

The space is leased from J.G. Petrucci Co. Inc., which has locations in Bethlehem and Asbury, N.J.

The new facility will complement the corporate headquarters and primary manufacturing site in Forks.

“We’ve taken ownership of the lease of the space and are working on necessary accommodations,” said Michael Rice, vice president of marketing for Follett Corp. “There will be some modifications to incorporate the manufacturing equipment we will be using. It will alleviate some of the congestion we have in our existing facility.”

The company has begun transporting some of its offices, in addition to manufacturing equipment, to the new space.

Follett has been hiring continuously and has about 350 employees in the Lehigh Valley, Rice said. Many employees from Forks will move to Hanover Township, he said.
