CHESTER COUNTY: 2 districts get construction aid
The Unionville-Chadds Ford and Kennett Consolidated
School Districts will receive more than $759,000 in state funding to partially
reimburse them for costs of major construction projects, State Rep. Chris Ross
(R., Chester) announced last week.
Unionville-Chadds Ford will receive more than $582,000
for improvements at Unionville High School.
Kennett Consolidated will receive $177,000 for work at
Bancroft Elementary School.
"The reimbursements will benefit these schools by
enabling them to direct more funding into the classroom," Ross said in a
statement.
The funding was available through the state's Planning
and Construction Workbook. School districts must document the planning process,
justify construction projects, and figure out the level of state participation
needed.
