A hearing by the Pennsylvania Labor Relations Board
concerning the Convention Center and the Metropolitan Regional Council of
Carpenters scheduled for Tuesday was postponed until Jan. 6. At issue is
whether the Pennsylvania Convention Center Authority committed unfair labor
practices, as the union has charged, that led to union carpenters' no longer
being allowed to work in the building. The authority has said that it acted
properly and that decisions by the union's leadership led to the union's loss
of jurisdiction.
