High Construction has won a $1 million contract to
renovate the newly renamed North Museum of Nature and Science, 400 College Ave.
Its scope of work includes updating select lobby and
display areas within the 6,900-square-foot main floor, as well as entrance
improvements highlighted by a new glass curtain wall and featuring ADA access.
The museum’s planetarium renovation is being handled by
the owner under a separate contract with Spitz Inc.
The entire cost of the renovation is $3.5 million. The
project was unveiled Oct. 2.
During construction, the museum will operate from a
temporary location, called Nano North at Water and Chestnut streets in the
Pennsylvania College of Art & Design building.
