Dire warnings from Trump Entertainment

Dire warnings came out of the Trump Entertainment Resorts Inc. bankruptcy, as Judge Kevin Gross weighed whether to allow the company withdraw immediately from a union pension plan.

Trump Entertainment's lawyers said that the company will definitely exit the pension plan, either with the judge's permission or through liquidation.

That process could start in the third week of this month if Trump isn't also allowed to reject its contract with Unite Here Local 54, which represents 1,136 workers at Taj Mahal.

Trump, which closed Trump Plaza on Sept. 16, is also seeking property-tax breaks from Atlantic City worth $29.8 million. Mayor Don Guardian said the city can't afford it. The judge's decision is expected Friday.
