A senior community called Warwick Woodlands is being
planned for Lititz, and its sales center is opening Saturday.
A sister community to nearby Moravian Manor, Warwick
Woodlands will be located on the 72-acre former Biemesderfer Landscape Nursery.
Nicole Michael, spokeswoman for parent nonprofit Moravian
Manors Inc., said the first phase will include 80 carriage, town and
free-standing homes and 56 apartments, with move-in expected in 2018 or early
2019.
"However, if we reach our pre-sales goal sooner than
anticipated, we could have people moving in by late 2017," she said.
Entrance fees will range from $200,000 up to $600,000,
she said, and include maintenance such as mowing, shoveling, raking and repairing. The community will be built
in traditional neighborhood design, which the organization describes as "a
newer trend in senior living and the first of its kind in the Lancaster
area."
RLPS Architects has designed 17 floor plans for
prospective residents to choose from, according to Michael, and the project's
land planner is RGS Associates Inc.
